FELLOWSHIP TRAINED IN INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE
APPLIED FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE CERTIFIED

Serving patients virtually in Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

I help people finally uncover and address root causes, rather than simply treating symptoms- believing in the body’s innate ability to heal, so individuals can genuinely restore health.

Amanda brings over 20 years of experience across internal, emergency, and primary care medicine. Fellowship trained in Integrative Medicine and Certified in Functional Medicine, her care integrates lab insight, nutritional guidance, and supplements or botanical therapy to address imbalance and support sustainable wellness. In particular, she loves uncovering foundational causes that have been missed, providing opportunities for true healing. Amanda partners with patients to create realistic, effective plans that strengthen vitality and improve your life experience.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

I graduated from PA school with a master’s degree from A.T. Still University in Arizona in 2007. After practicing in primary care, internal medicine and emergency medicine for a few years, I recognized the lack of true “health” in the healthcare system, leading me to seek formal training beyond Western medicine.

I completed a two year fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona, under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Weil in 2012. I also trained with Dr. Tieraona Low Dog - a physician, midwife, and herbalist - whose teachings greatly expanded my understanding of healing from a truly whole-person perspective. Additionally, I’m certified in functional medicine through the School of Applied Functional Medicine (AFMC). I have a special interest in supporting women from preconception to postpartum and have completed Lily Nichols's Institute for Prenatal Nutrition program to support patients in this area.

Forever a student, I’m currently studying integrative women’s health with Dr. Aviva Romm, further strengthening my ability to tailor evidence-based strategies for each individual.

HOW I PRACTICE

Believing in the body’s ability to heal when provided with optimal nutrition and lifestyle, I partner with patients to address health from a truly holistic perspective, carefully and thoughtfully considering interactions between your:

  • Hormones

  • Metabolism

  • Gut Health

  • Nutritional Status

  • Nervous System Regulation

I enjoy working with patients on thyroid health, gut health, metabolic health, preconception to postpartum as well as perimenopause and beyond. Your care is not based on guesswork or trends. Instead, your plan will be targeted, sustainable, and uniquely specific to you. I use a combination of detailed clinical assessment, advanced functional testing, and a systems-based approach to physiology. Our work together is collaborative and highly individualized.

BEYOND THE CLINIC

My background in both conventional and integrative/functional medicine allows me to bring the best of both worlds to every consultation, so you feel truly heard, understood, and empowered. I’ve seen the transformation that’s possible when people feel genuinely supported in their health journey. Living in authentic alignment, my own life is infused with holistic wellness as much as possible. When I’m not with patients, you’ll find me gardening and tending chickens, or traveling with my husband and our three homeschooled children.
